Thinning Hair Solutions

Thinning hair a problem? Looking for fuller-looking, thicker hair? You are not alone.

Thinning hair affects up to 50% of people at some point in their lives. There is no single cause and it affects all ages. Hormones, stress, illness, pregnancy, medication, poor diet and genetics can all be to blame.

Nioxin Treatment for Thinning Hair

Our qualified Nioxin specialists have completed intensive training with Nioxin, the leading treatment system for thinning hair. With decades of research behind it, and a strong reputation for understanding the science behind hair loss, Nioxin is a hair product you can trust.

Nioxin works to:

  • make your hair less fine
  • reduce your hair breakage and
  • improve your scalp to give you thicker, fuller-looking hair.

Our Nioxin Thinning Hair Treatment System

At Zaks Hairdressing we use a four stage Nioxin treatment system for thinning hair:

1. Nioscope Consultation

Using the magnifying Nioscope we first make a detailed examination of your scalp. This projects a greatly enlarged image of your scalp onto a monitor so you too can see the condition of your scalp.

2. Nioxin dermabrasion treatment for thinning hair

Hair follicles can become plugged with sebum, hardened collagen and layers of dead skin cells. Once blocked, hair strands find it difficult to grow from these follicles – on a healthy scalp it’s not uncommon to find two or three strands of hair growing out of one follicle. More blocked follicles result in fewer strands of hair growing. Hair strands that do struggle through are weak and break easily. Our dermabrasion treatment, carried out by one of our qualified Nioxin experts, reduces this blockage problem.

Increasing cellular renewal of the scalp with a natural dermabrasion works in the same way microdermabrasion works for the face. Sloughing off dead, flaky skin allows younger skin cells to surface. Younger cells are fresher, clearer and healthier. This helps to remove the build-up around hair follicles and increases skin surface regeneration by up to 34%. For your scalp this means a healthier environment for new hair growth.

We recommend the Nioxin dermabrasion treatment is repeated every 4-6 weeks.

3. Nioxin hair product application

After the dermabrasion treatment we re-examine your scalp with the Nioscope.

Your treatment continues with the application of the Nioxin cleanser, revitaliser and a scalp treatment.

4. A Nioxin homecare treatment programme

Home care between salon treatments is important if you want fuller-looking hair. We’ll prescribe the right products for your hair from the specialist Nioxin range – available at both our Kingswinford and central Wolverhampton (School Street) salons.
