September 2009
It was with great pride and excitement that we travelled to London on Monday 28th September to attend this year's Wella Professionals Trend Vision Awards Final.
We were there to support our two fabulous young School Street stylists Amy Bradley and Jess Williams following their success in reaching the final of the Trend Vision Young Talent category - one of the UK hairdressing industry's most prestigious competitions.
This year's final saw 20 of the UK's most talented young stylists competing to take home the coveted winners title at the Wella Professionals World Studio in central London. Each of the competitors set to work creating their total look for evaluation by an esteemed panel of judges.
After a gruelling three hours of competing it was off to legendary cultural venue, The Roundhouse, for the glittering grand finale dinner and awards ceremony presented by BBC radio and television presenter Jo Whiley with live musical entertainment from Welsh rock band Feeder.
An audience of over 700 people gathered for a sparkling evening of entertainment, creativity and spectacular show before the final unveiling of the Trend Vision Award Winners for 2009.
Though ultimately our talented duo didn't manage to bag themselves a 'gong' it didn't stop the ZAKS party having an unforgettable evening and reflecting on Amy and Jess's considerable achievement in reaching the finals.
Our Salon Director Gary Edge added "I am thrilled for girls. To get this far in such a significant national competition is a phenomenal accomplishment. Well done Amy and Jess!"
Both girls agree that taking part in the whole event was an incredible experience and one that is not going to be forgotten for the foreseeable future!

Congratulations to Russ Hickenboatham, Artistic Director at Hampton Walk Salon who reached the regional finals in the over 30's Colour category and Laura Smyth from our Kingswinford Salon who got through to the regional heat of the Young Talent category.
